Joanne has years of experience treating the adults, elderly and special-needs population both in community and medical settings. While working towards her Bachelor's degree in social work, Master's degree in social work and her Licensed Clinical Social Work (LCSW), Joanne has worked in community mental health, sub-acute inpatient rehabs and hospitals, providing individual and family therapy to those affected by health and psychosocial/socioeconomic challenges as well as trauma.
Joanne uses a variety of treatment modalities including, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Solution Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT), mindfulness-based, strength-based, trauma focused, multicultural therapy and motivational interviewing approach. Joanne also has specialized training in Crisis Prevention Institution (CPI), which focuses on the de-escalation techniques and person-centered behavior management strategies to create a culture of safety. Joanne looks forward to connecting with clients and working towards healing in a warm, supportive and safe space, where they are encouraged to expand their coping with life stressors and challenges.
